Understanding Residential Waste Removal in West Texas

Every household eventually generates more debris than curbside pickup or a standard junk removal service can realistically handle. A garage that's accumulated a decade of storage, a moving-day purge, or clearing out a property after an estate sale — these are bulk trash pickup situations, not weekly-trash situations. A roll-off container solves this differently than hauling services do: it gives you a fixed, on-site space to fill at your own pace over a full week, rather than scheduling repeated truck pickups or making dump runs yourself.

Most West Texas municipalities don't require a permit for a dumpster placed entirely on private property — your driveway or side yard. Street placement is different: most cities in our service area require a right-of-way permit before a container can sit on public pavement. If you're unsure which applies to your address, our permit guide breaks it down city by city.

Not everything leaving your home goes through the same disposal path. Electronics, batteries, and certain chemicals are regulated waste that standard landfill services won't accept in a roll-off — they require separate handling to stay within state waste disposal regulations. Our accepted items guide covers exactly what's fine to toss and what needs a different route.

What Can Go In a Residential Dumpster?

✅ Generally Accepted

  • Furniture — sofas, dressers, tables, chairs
  • Mattresses & bed frames
  • Clothing, boxes & household items
  • Small appliances & electronics (except TVs/computers)
  • Yard waste — limbs, brush, sod, fencing
  • General junk & miscellaneous debris
  • Moving boxes & packing material
  • Flooring & carpet (from light renovation)

🚫 Not Accepted

  • Hazardous materials — paint, chemicals, motor oil
  • Tires & car batteries
  • Electronics (TVs, computers, monitors)
  • Propane tanks & fuel containers
  • Asbestos materials (older homes — test first)
  • Medical waste
Plastic pipe or PVC over 4 ft requires a $90 landfill surcharge. Pipe under 4 ft is fine at no extra charge.

Renting a Residential Roll-Off — Frequently Asked Questions

For most home cleanouts, a 15-yard dumpster ($400) handles a single-car garage, attic, or average estate. If you're clearing multiple areas — garage plus attic plus storage unit — step up to a 21-yard ($450) for breathing room. When in doubt, sizing up is almost always cheaper than paying overage on a smaller container.

Yes — furniture (sofas, dressers, tables, chairs, mattresses) and most appliances (washers, dryers, refrigerators, stoves) are accepted. The exception is electronics: TVs, computers, and monitors are regulated e-waste and cannot go in the dumpster. For large appliance loads, remember that a refrigerator weighs around 300 lbs — factor that into your weight estimate.

Every rental includes 7 days flat. Most residential customers fill theirs in 1–3 days, but having the full week means you can work at your own pace without rushing. When you're done, just text us at (432) 556-2894 and we'll schedule pickup — no need to call during business hours.

No — you don't need to be home. When you book, just tell us where you'd like the dumpster placed (driveway, side yard, specific location) and our driver will handle it. If you have specific placement preferences or a concern about your driveway surface, mention it at booking or text us the morning of delivery.

In most cases, no. Our drivers use plywood or hardwood boards under every dumpster to distribute the weight and protect your surface. Concrete driveways handle residential loads well. Asphalt driveways in West Texas summer heat require extra care — boards are always used. If you have an older or cracked driveway, let us know at booking and we'll take extra precautions or discuss street placement as an option.
