Dumpster Rental FAQ — West Texas & Permian Basin

Everything you need to know before renting a dumpster from Let Us Dump It — organized by topic. All questions are answered in plain English. Can't find your question? Call or text (432) 556-2894 and we'll answer it directly.

💰 Pricing & Fees

Let Us Dump It offers flat-rate pricing with no hidden fees: 15-yard $400 (1 ton included), 21-yard $450 (2 tons), 25-yard $500 (3 tons), 30-yard $550 (4 tons). Every rental includes delivery to your location, the 7-day rental period, and pickup when you're done. No fuel surcharges, no admin fees, no surprise charges.

No. The only additional charges that can apply are: $90 per ton overage if you exceed your included weight limit, and a $90 landfill-mandated surcharge for plastic pipe or PVC longer than 4 feet. Everything else — delivery, placement, pickup, the 7-day rental — is in your flat rate.

Overage is charged at $90 per ton beyond your included weight. For example, renting a 15-yard dumpster (1 ton included) with a final load weight of 1.5 tons = $45 overage. Use our weight estimator to check your load before booking.

The $90 surcharge for PVC or plastic pipe longer than 4 feet is a fee charged by the landfill — not by us. The landfill requires special handling for long plastic pipe, and we pass that cost through at cost. Pipe under 4 feet is accepted at no additional charge.

Yes. Contractors, property managers, and businesses with recurring rental needs can set up a commercial account with volume pricing, priority scheduling, and flexible billing. Call (432) 556-2894 to discuss your typical rental volume and we'll work something out.

📐 Choosing the Right Size

For most one or two-car garage cleanouts, a 15-yard dumpster ($400) handles the job — roughly 75 trash bags or 4–5 pickup truck loads. If you're also tackling an attic or storage unit at the same time, step up to a 21-yard ($450). When in doubt, sizing up is usually cheaper than overage on a too-small container.

Shingles are heavy — approximately 250 lbs per square (100 sq ft). For roofs under 1,500 sq ft, a 15-yard dumpster may work if your load stays under 1 ton. For larger roofs, a 21-yard ($450, 2 tons included) is typically the right choice. Always check your weight against the included tonnage — roofing debris is one of the most common causes of overage charges.

Yes — but weight limits are critical. Concrete weighs ~150 lbs per cubic foot and dirt ~90 lbs per cubic foot. These materials are much denser than household junk and can max out your included tonnage with a fraction of the visual volume. For heavy material jobs, use our weight estimator or call us to size correctly before booking.

The 15-yard ($400) holds about 75 trash bags and 1 ton included. The 21-yard ($450) holds about 110 trash bags and 2 tons included. The 21-yard is $50 more but gives you significantly more capacity and double the included tonnage — making it the better value for most renovation and multi-area cleanout projects.

🚛 Delivery & Pickup

Yes. Same-day delivery is available Monday through Friday when you book before noon. Book by noon and your dumpster arrives the same day between 8am–6pm. For weekend projects, book before Friday at 4:30 PM for Monday morning delivery.

No. Our drivers handle placement without you present. Just tell us your preferred placement location when you book — driveway position, which side, any obstacles to avoid. If you have specific notes, text them to (432) 556-2894 the morning of delivery.

Every rental includes a flat 7-day rental period — no daily rate, no penalty for using all 7 days. Most customers finish in 1–3 days, but having the full week lets you work at your own pace. If you need more than 7 days, call us and we'll work out extended arrangements.

Text us at (432) 556-2894 when you're ready. No phone tree, no hold music. Send a text and we'll confirm pickup. Pickups are scheduled Monday through Friday — weekend texts are handled first thing the following business day.

We deliver to Midland, Odessa, West Odessa, Andrews, Big Spring, Stanton, Monahans, Kermit, Crane, McCamey, Lamesa, and Ackerly, TX — 12 cities across the Permian Basin and West Texas. Flat-rate pricing applies to all 12 cities with no distance surcharges. Not sure if we reach your address? Text us your ZIP and we'll confirm.

What Can Go In the Dumpster

Most household and construction debris is accepted: furniture, mattresses, appliances, drywall, lumber, flooring, tile, roofing shingles, concrete, brick, dirt, yard waste, tree limbs, fencing, metal scrap, and general household junk. See our full accepted items guide for the complete category-by-category breakdown.

Not accepted: paint and chemicals, motor oil, gasoline, tires, car batteries, electronics (TVs, computers), propane tanks, asbestos materials, medical waste, and any liquids. When in doubt, call or text us before loading — a refused load at the landfill costs everyone time and money.

No. Tires are regulated waste in Texas and cannot be placed in our dumpsters. Most auto parts stores and tire shops in Midland accept old tires for a small recycling fee. Do not place tires in the container — contaminated loads can result in the landfill refusing the entire haul.

Liquid paint is not accepted — it's classified as hazardous waste. Completely dried, empty paint cans are generally acceptable. To dry out paint quickly, remove the lid and let it harden in the sun (usually 2–3 days for latex paint). For liquid paint disposal, check the City of Midland's hazardous household waste collection schedule.

No. Let Us Dump It is a roll-off dumpster rental service — we deliver a container, you fill it, and we pick it up. We don't haul individual items, pick up single pieces of furniture, or wait at the curb while you load. For single-item removal, a local junk hauler is the right fit.

⚖️ Weight Limits & Overage

Included tonnage by size: 15-yard = 1 ton (2,000 lbs), 21-yard = 2 tons (4,000 lbs), 25-yard = 3 tons (6,000 lbs), 30-yard = 4 tons (8,000 lbs). Overage beyond your limit is $90 per ton. Use our interactive weight estimator to check your load before booking.

An empty 15-yard dumpster weighs approximately 4,000–6,000 lbs. Fully loaded to its included tonnage, it can reach 6,000–8,000 lbs — comparable to a large pickup truck. A 30-yard container fully loaded can exceed 12,000 lbs. This is why driver placement with boards matters, especially on asphalt driveways in West Texas summer heat.

Three ways: (1) Use our weight estimator before booking to check your estimated load weight against your included tonnage. (2) Size up if you're loading heavy material like concrete, roofing, or dirt — the extra $50–100 for a larger size is almost always cheaper than overage. (3) Call us if you're unsure — we'd rather help you pick the right size up front than have you hit overage at pickup.

📍 Placement & Permits

In most cases, no. Our drivers use plywood boards under every dumpster to distribute weight and protect your surface. Concrete driveways handle residential loads well. Asphalt driveways require extra care, especially in West Texas summer heat — boards are always used. Mention your driveway type at booking. See our full driveway protection guide for more detail.

No permit is required for dumpsters placed on your private driveway or property in any of our 12 service cities. Permits are typically only required when placing a dumpster on a public street or sidewalk. See our city-by-city permit guide for street placement rules in each city we serve.

Yes — street placement is an option. In most cities we serve, street placement requires a permit from the city's public works department. The permit is the customer's responsibility to obtain before delivery. In Midland, contact Public Works at (432) 685-7400. See our permit guide for all 12 cities.

🦺 Contractor Accounts

Call or text (432) 556-2894 and describe your typical rental volume and project schedule. We set up accounts over the phone — no lengthy forms or approval process. Visit our contractor account page for more details on what's included.

Yes. Account holders have priority access to same-day delivery slots when booked before noon Monday through Friday. For job site emergencies or last-minute schedule changes, account holders are at the front of the line. Text (432) 556-2894 as early as possible for same-day requests.

Invoicing arrangements are available for contractor account holders with consistent rental volume. This is useful for property management companies and general contractors who track disposal costs across multiple job sites. Call us to discuss the specifics of your situation.
