What to Know Before Your First Dumpster Rental
Most homeowners renting a dumpster are doing it for the first time, and the biggest source of frustration isn't usually the price — it's not knowing what to expect. Unlike ordering something online, a dumpster rental involves a physical delivery to your property, a real person deciding where to place it, and a week of living around a large container. Knowing the shape of that process ahead of time makes the whole thing feel a lot less uncertain.
The single most useful thing you can do before delivery is decide exactly where you want the dumpster placed — and communicate it clearly when you book. "In the driveway" is a start, but "driveway, right side, close to the garage" saves a back-and-forth on delivery day and gets your driver placing boards and dropping the container in one pass instead of guessing.
Loading technique matters more than most first-timers expect, too. Breaking down large items (flattening boxes, disassembling furniture where you can) and distributing weight evenly across the container gets you noticeably more usable capacity than tossing things in as they come. It's the difference between a 15-yard that fills up on day two and one that comfortably lasts the full week.
The Real Concerns — and How We Handle Them
"I'm worried about hidden fees."
Most national dumpster companies advertise a low base rate — then pile on fuel surcharges, admin fees, and surprise disposal charges at pickup.
Every Let Us Dump It rental is a flat rate. Delivery, pickup, and your included tonnage are all in that one price. The only extras are overage ($90/ton if you exceed your limit) and a $90 landfill surcharge for plastic pipe over 4 ft.
"I don't know what size I need."
Picking the wrong size means either running out of room mid-project or paying for capacity you didn't use.
Our interactive size selector and weight estimator are built exactly for this. Or just call or text us — describe your project in 30 seconds and we'll tell you the right size. No upsell, just the honest answer.
"What if it damages my driveway?"
Homeowners worry about heavy roll-off containers cracking concrete or leaving impressions in asphalt, especially in West Texas summer heat.
Our drivers use plywood boards under every dumpster to protect your surface. Tell us your driveway type at booking. If you'd rather skip the driveway entirely, we can discuss street placement options for your neighborhood.

What Homeowners Are Saying
"Other companies had me waiting 2 weeks out — these guys had a dumpster to me on time. He gave me a time and stuck with it. I didn't have to stress or worry."

Homeowner Questions — Answered
No account, no contract, and no long-term commitment required. Homeowner rentals are one-time bookings — you choose your size, pick your date, and that's it. Payment is confirmed at checkout and you're done. There's nothing to sign up for and no recurring fees.
The standard rental includes 7 days flat. Most homeowners finish their project in 1–3 days. If you need more time, give us a call and we'll work out extended arrangements. We're flexible — we'd rather accommodate you than rush a pickup on a project you're still working on.
To have your dumpster ready for a weekend project, you'll want to book before Friday at 4:30 PM. Our drivers don't operate on Saturdays or Sundays, so weekend delivery isn't available — but booking Friday means your dumpster is in place and ready when you start Saturday morning.
For most homeowners, a dumpster rental is cheaper once you factor in all the real costs of DIY hauling: landfill fees, truck rental if you don't own a pickup, fuel, and the value of your time across multiple weekend trips. Use the calculator above with your actual trip count — most 3–5 trip projects come out cheaper with a dumpster, and you get to work at your own pace over 7 days.
